Workshop Description:
Applications for Day 1 and Day 2 are accepted separately.
Day 1 - TouchDesigner for Beginners
This workshop is for those who are new to TouchDesigner. Exploring the fundamentals of the interface, nodes, and tools in TouchDesigner, we will learn through building practical examples of video effects, audio visualization, and basic 3D setups.
This is beginner level, no experience is required. Please refer to System requirements before registering, and remember to bring a mouse or trackball!
Day 2 - POPs in Depth - Intermediate
This workshop will focus on POPs, the new Point Operator family released in TouchDesigner 2025. POPs can be used for 3d geometry, particles, point clouds, lines and curves, DMX lighting, and more while offering new levels of performance with a fully GPU accelerated pipeline. We will cover an introduction to POP core concepts and then walkthrough a number of workflows for content creation with POPs.
This is Intermediate level. You should be familiar with all the concepts covered in TouchDesigner Fundamentals Course. If you are not familiar with any of them, it is recommended you study them before the workshop.
Intermediate level assumes you understand how to use all the node families, how to navigate the interface, and how to make connections between operators and parameters. The agenda will move fast and deal with many non-beginner topics, it is recommended for those who have used TouchDesigner 1 year or more.
The instructor will lecture in English, and an interpreter will be available.

Blending a background in Computer Science and a personal passion for real-time graphics and gaming. Early in his career he worked in film at IMAX while maintaining a personal passion for real-time graphics and visual effects. He discovered Derivative and TouchDesigner in 2002 where the combination of experimental graphics, real-time programming, and working with visual artists was a perfect fit.
