Projection Mapping Workshop @ SCA SFU Vancouver For Beginners

 
Projection Mapping Workshop aims to give you an introduction to workflows and techniques to create real time compositions on objects in space. We will be using existing objects in our studio.The workshop is for beginners as well as intermediate that want to improve their skills, experiment new tools and develop visuals in TouchDesigner environment.

Projection Mapping Workshop is an introduction to workflows and techniques to create real time compositions in space. Workshop will be conducted by Irfan Brkovc as part of the Interdisciplinary Studio - Composition/Collaboration, guided by Rob Kitsos, at Goldcorp Centre for the Arts - SFU School for Contemporary Arts in Vancouver. The workshop is for beginners as well as intermediate that want to improve their skills, experiment new tools and develop visuals in TouchDesigner environment.

 

The first segment of the workshop focuses on presenting a study of the Moonlight project, while the second segment centers on utilizing TouchDesigner in conjunction with kantanMapper. We will cover the approach to make the systems for standalone installations as well as the interactive performance aspect. 

Requirements: 

Computer with the latest official TouchDesigner 099

Irfan Brković aka Hypermosh is artist and educator based in Vancouver. His work is driven by obsolete machines, feedback systems and controlled randomness. Video artist at The Wooster Group in New York, where he designs interactive video systems for live performances.The founding member of Phase Space NYC dedicated to the exploration of media, performance, creative coding and interdisciplinary art practices. Current Master of Fine Arts at SFU School of Contemporary Art in Vancouver, Canada.

Rob Kitsos is an acclaimed dancer, dance instructor, performing artist, musician, visual artist and choreographer who has performed across North America, Europe and Asia. He has been commissioned by artists and companies in Hong Kong, Seattle and Vancouver including Bard on the Beach 
Shakespeare Festival and the British Columbia Ballet in Vancouver, BC. As a choreographer, Kitsos has created over 100 original works, many of which include collaborations with artists from a range of disciplines. He received his BA in Theatre/Dance from Bard College and his MFA in Dance from the University of Washington in 1997.
