Creative Masterclass Immersive Room For Intermediate

This two-part masterclass with Stefan Kraus (aka MXZEHN) invites artists, designers, digital scenographers, and media architects to explore the creation of immersive experiences using TouchDesigner.

Chapter 1 : Foundations of Immersive Room Creation

From Imagination to Audiovisual Immersion

Chapter 1 – Foundations is an accessible introduction to immersive room production, offering three online lessons that provide essential skills for navigating any geometry and immersive projections. Open to a broad audience, this part equips participants with the foundational knowledge needed to create engaging immersive content.

  • Three 3-hour online lessons
  • Affordable and accessible, open to a broad audience
  • Focus on creative solutions to challenging resolutions
  • Beginner friendly

Chapter 1 - three live online lessons can be purchased independently of the case study for a very affordable price:

Chapter 2 : Case Study Kunstkraftwerk Leipzig

From Idea to Delivery

Chapter 2 – Case Study is an intensive, personal project study for 16 participants. Learn how to develop a work from idea through ideation, concept, storyborad, production and deployment. Through guided mentorship, studio time at The NODE Institute in Berlin, test screenings at the immersive venue KunstKraftWerk Leipzig, and a structured workflow, participants develop their own audio-visual pieces.

The process is designed to move participants out of endless experimentation into a result-driven production workflow, helping them to realize complex projects in a real – but safe environment. While real-time techniques are explored—highlighting their relevance for live immersive performances—the course produces rendered AV content, allowing the work to be shared and showcased easily. Participation in the Case Study is limited, ensuring tailored guidance and individual support.

  • Three interactive online lessons + three days on location in Berlin and Leipzig
  • Intensive mentorship, studio time, test screenings, and final presentation
  • Structured guidance transforms concepts into presentation-ready AV immersive experiences
  • Limited to 16 participants

What You’ll Learn

  • Navigate technical and artistic challenges of immersive media systems
  • Understand 2D and 3D generative content pipelines for any geometry
  • Combine various techniques to create dynamic visuals optimized for immersive spaces
  • Understand real-time strategies for live immersive performances and concerts
  • Move from open-ended experimentation to structured, result-driven production workflows
  • Produce presentation-ready AV content suitable for screenings, portfolios, and live contexts
