In this tutorial, I am building a Component that receives a 3D object of any size and position in space, and outputs a normalized version of it, positioned at the 3D world's origin. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=JzVgcc_2kB4&t=1090s
Gaming controllers are some of the most inexpensive controllers you can get for your computer. Turns out, they're extremely useful for interactive and immersive installations.
There's a new build of RayTK available! https://github.com/t3kt/raytk/releases/tag/build-0.13 Highlights Whole new modular material system! Create customized combinations of different parts of materials. Lots more options for filters, texturing, and field-based variation.
In this TouchDesigner tutorial we look at how we can use audio data and CHOPs to manipulate a wide variety of sketches. This also works with the audiodevicein. As I quickly touch upon in the video - the input can be anything, not just extracted audio data.
In this TouchDesigner tutorial we look at how to set up a 3D "world" through which we can endlessy move through. You can use any 3D objects and are not limited to this example. There's a lot of small tricks so this is not only about the main technique as usual :)

The asset download below contains a self-contained example tutorial for getting into TouchDesigner. Specifically we will learn how to use instancing to create a glowing shape made of points. The file is created to accompany an article in the German edition of PAGE magazine, more info will follow.
5th video on this ongoing series were we recreate the examples at "generativeartistry.com". Special thanks to Bileam for helping me come up with a good and somewhat modular solution. Tutorial is in spanish but auto generated CCs work somewhat okay.
Frame delays and trails are great effects used all over the place in our industry. Whether you're working with particles, live camera feeds, or pre-recorded content, trails and RGB delays are a great way to spice it up.
Fourth entry on these series of tutorials were we recreate the examples at "generativeartistry.com" with touchdesigner. As always the tutorial is in spanish but auto generated captions work somewhat okay. Special thanks to Jean-François Renaud for coming up with a great solution!
We all know TouchDesigner is full of operators. One that pros are finding more and more valuable is the Perform DAT. It's essentially a mini and programmable Performance Monitor that you can embed right in your project.
Hello this is the third entry on a series of tutorials I'm making were we recreate the examples at the web "generativeartistry.com". It's in spanish. Any criticism, feedback, comments, or questions are highly welcomed.
Hello this is the second entry on a series of tutorials I'm making were we recreate the examples at the web "generativeartistry.com". It's in spanish. Any criticism, feedback, comments, or questions are highly welcomed.
Op Find DAT is a hidden gem in TouchDesigner. While simple in concept, it can be tricky for users the implement it effectively in their projects. How do the callbacks work? How do the filters work? How do I add custom columns?
New RayTK tutorial! This one covers the "iteration" system which you can use to vary repetitions of shapes, similar to instancing. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=uth-l_hulZE
Notch's root node can confuse new users. It's both the central node but it's also your active render context. What happens when you want to quickly render another texture in the background and use it as a mask, displacement map, or material texture?
En esta serie de tutoriales vamos a recrear los ejemplos de la web https://generativeartistry.com/tutorials/ en touchdesigner. You can reach me at my insta: @internetbigboi
Picking up where we left off in part 1, we dive deeper into Zig Sim Pro and look at the capabilities it has when it comes to it's depth sensor and ARkit features.
We have full-on super computers in our pockets. The latest iPhones have everything from built in AR, depth cameras, facial tracking, marker tracking, and a smorgasbord of sensors like gyroscopes, accelerometers, and more.
There are so many operators in TouchDesigner it can be hard to learn every single one. So many handy operators go un-used by newer users just because they're a bit more obscure or the operators were only recently released.

In this tutorial we look at how to create a basic interactive particle system by using the Kinect v2 (works with Azure too), Optical Flow and particlesGPU. We especially have a closer look at the particlesGPU, so you can easily customize the look and behaviour of the particles to your needs.
In this tutorial we create a component which can detect when objects are on top of each other (colliding). This works for any 2D input with alpha. You could also render a 3D scene and use it there, it just works on the u v axis though.
I have always seen the Render Pick function, mainly used with the mouse. However, I have always wanted to control it with a Kinect and finally in the last months I came up with a personal solution that allowed me that!
