Looking for a TouchDesigner developer with interactive installation experience - Los Angeles locals only

Los Angeles

I’m looking for an experienced TouchDesigner developer based in Los Angeles to help bring an interactive, physical art installation called Quantum across the finish line.

Most of the core system has already been built by previous programmers. I’m not looking to start from scratch. I need someone comfortable stepping into an existing TouchDesigner project, working with what’s already there, and pushing it to a stable, finished state.

Ideal experience

  • Strong TouchDesigner skills, especially in physical, interactive installations

  • Experience working with artists and understanding contemporary interactive art

  • Comfortable syncing video, audio, and real-time systems

  • Persistent, patient, and able to push through complexity until the work is finished

  • Familiarity with OpenAPI / AI tools (e.g., Runway) is a plus, not a requirement

First things to be done

  • Stabilize the existing TouchDesigner system

  • Ensure a physical switch reliably triggers the experience

  • Confirm video appears on the correct screens consistently

  • Confirm audio plays correctly and stays in sync

Later things to be done

  • Integrate TouchDesigner with OpenAPI tools (e.g., Runway) to generate short videos during a session

  • Use the generated video as the final visual sequence

  • Discuss next steps for connecting session output to a digital asset / NFT pipeline

    • Optional if you have experience

    • Otherwise, coordinating with another specialist is perfectly fine

This is a focused, execution-heavy role. The priority is making the piece work reliably. AI is secondary. The goal is to finish, not re-architect.

If this sounds like a good fit, feel free to reach out with a brief note about your experience.

Thanks.
