Lead Creative Developer – TouchDesigner
Installations at Otherworld are highly interactive and tech driven utilizing TouchDesigner, projection and LED mapping, custom microcontrollers, sensors, and motion tracking. The Lead Creative Developer will develop and implement immersive multimedia exhibits for Otherworld locations.
The candidate will collaborate with the design team to create tech narratives for multimedia rooms, bringing the narratives to realization through collaboration with in-house and freelance technical partners.
Post-integration of projects, the Lead Creative Developer will help streamline long-term maintenance strategies that ensure the longevity and stability of active multimedia exhibits across all locations. The goal being optimized back-end accessibility where most issues can be handled by unskilled attendants.
 
Responsibilities:
  • Provide creative input and proposals to the art/creative department
  • Ensure tech narratives are created according to the artistic vision
  • Develop interactive multimedia exhibits based on creative tech narratives
  • Collaborate with in-house and freelance technical developers and integrators
  • Oversee integration and testing before shipping and after onsite installation
  • Create and implement long-term maintenance strategies
  • Responsible for Programming optimization and documentation of technical processes
 
Experience:
  • 5+ years of experience developing and integrating interactive multimedia content
  • Expert-level TouchDesigner programming skills, including extensions, packaging, and collaboration
  • Expert-level Python experience
  • Proficient in C++
  • Proficient in projection and LED mapping
  • Deep understanding of and experience in simulation and 3D
  • Good understanding of 3D rendering in TouchDesigner
  • Experience with motion tracking technologies like LIDAR, Kinect, and Zedd
  • Experience with microcontrollers like Arduino, Raspberry Pi and Teensy
  • Some experience in After Effects and the Adobe suite
The candidate should be highly autonomous, self-driven, and comfortable operating under ambiguity. They should be able to communicate clearly and collaborate with both technical and non-technical members of the team. They should be open to feedback and responsive to constructive criticism. And finally, they should be passionate about creating immersive experiences.
Pay: Please submit salary requirements with application; eligbile for esop and/or profit share depending on experience
