What you’d do
• Spec and build control systems for custom kinetic, lighting, and interactive pieces — motors, sensors, actuators, LED
• Write the code that runs them, and the failsafes for when something jams at 2am on load-in
• Wire and document panels, harnesses, and enclosures that survive a truck ride and a week outdoors
• Work directly with our fabricators from concept through onsite commissioning, not handed a finished object and asked to make it move
• Be on site for install and show days when the build calls for it
What you need
• Real builds you can point to that moved, lit up, or reacted — and shipped
• Motor control fluency: steppers, servos, VFDs, encoders, limit switches, e-stops
• Microcontroller and/or PLC work (Arduino/Teensy/ESP32, Raspberry Pi, or industrial equivalents)
• DMX/Art-Net and show control; TouchDesigner, Madrix, QLab, or similar
• Comfortable with a multimeter, a crimper, and a wiring diagram you have to draw yourself
• LA-based and able to work in a shop, not just remote
Bonus
• Pneumatics or hydraulics
• Load and structural instincts on moving assemblies
• Fire, water, fog, or CO₂ effects and the permitting that comes with them
• Anything festival, touring, or theme park
