The 30th of October is a day dedicated to TouchDesigner in Ireland.
In collaboration with the Digital Media Art Research Centre (DMARC) at the University of Limerick, and audio-visual artist Pauric Freeman, we are excited to present our TouchDesigner workshop series. This series includes two workshops and a seminar, offering an in-depth introduction to TouchDesigner and its applications with a focus on real time audio/visual performance.

All of the events are free. However due to space and equipment constraints, the workshops will be ticketed. The tickets will go live on Friday 11th October. The first workshop, led by members of Concept Null, will take place from 10AM to 11AM in room CS3005A (CSIS Building). Designed for beginners, and those curious about TouchDesigner, this session will cover the essentials – from setting up the software to navigating its interface. Participants will be introduced to common workflows, operators, along with basic MIDI & OSC controls. By the end of the workshop, attendees will have a strong foundation to prepare them for the more advanced workshop in the afternoon.
TICKETS FOR THE BEGINNER WORKSHOP
Following this, from 2:30PM to 3:30PM, Pauric Freeman will deliver a seminar in Lecture Hall CSG001 (CSIS Building). In this session, Pauric, who is widely recognised in the TouchDeisgner community, will provide insights into his background and creative practice, focusing on how he integrates TouchDesigner with modular synths to create live audio-visual performances. He will also showcase examples of his work and discuss the processes behind his performances.
At 3:30PM, the second workshop, led by Pauric Freeman, will take place in room CS3005A (CSIS Building). Building on the earlier session, Pauric will demonstrate his approach to designing simple yet flexible audio-visual performance systems using MIDI & OSC in TouchDesigner. Participants will learn how to create systems that they can easily customise,adapt and perform for their own creative projects.
TICKETS FOR BUILDING A/V SYSTEMS WITH PAURIC FREEMAN
In addition to this series, we will host a TouchDesigner Meet & Jam in the evening. The meetup is open to everyone, and will take place in Pharmacia, Limerick City – starting at 6:30PM. The event will be an informal get-together for TouchDesigner enthusiasts to share a drink, chat, and patch.
