TouchDesigner Bangkok Meetup Vol. 2 | 2026

We are thrilled to announce the return of the TouchDesigner Bangkok Meetup Vol. 2, TDBKK 2026. Five days of workshops, artist presentations, audiovisual performances, and installations across two iconic Bangkok venues, bringing together 20+ artists and speakers from across the region and beyond.

A new dawn is arriving in Southeast Asia, igniting hope for the creative technology industry and guiding the leaders of tomorrow.TDBKK 2026 creates a platform for meaningful dialogue among artists, educators, industry professionals, and the public, exploring talent development, international collaboration, and the infrastructure needed to drive sustainable growth in the creative technology sector.

Dates & Venues

Kick off TDBKK 2026 with two intensive workshop days led by Dan Molnar, widely known in the TouchDesigner community as Function Store. His tutorials have shaped how thousands of people around the world approach TouchDesigner. Limited seats. Suitable for beginners to intermediate practitioners.

Workshops with Dan Molnar (Function Store) July 30–31, 2026 · 1–5 pm at Goethe-Institut Thailand, Bangkok

Workshop 1Intro to Interactive Visuals & Sensors with TouchDesigner

4 hours · For practitioners with a basic understanding of TouchDesigner

Ever wanted to create artwork that moves when people walk by, or visuals that react to a wave of a hand? This workshop is a practical introduction to building interactive visuals that respond to the real world.

We look at how different sensors work — from a simple webcam to depth cameras and laser scanners — and learn how to use their data to drive visual systems. We also cover the basics of setting up work for real physical spaces, like galleries or stage backdrops.

What we'll cover:

  • Meet the Sensors — Webcams, Kinect depth cameras, and LIDAR. How each sensor sees the world and how to get that data into TouchDesigner.
  • Making Things Move — Turning human movement into visual reactions: mapping live feeds and sensor data to shapes, colours, and particle effects.
  • Designing for the Real World — Scaling visuals for projectors and large screens, and making interactions feel natural for people in the room.

Bring: laptop with TouchDesigner installed, three-button mouse, built-in or USB webcam.

Workshop 2Interconnected Audiovisuals with TouchDesigner and Bitwig

4 hours · For practitioners with a basic understanding of TouchDesigner and any audio software.

This workshop is a practical session on linking TouchDesigner and Bitwig Studio using TDBitwig. Rather than dealing with tedious manual MIDI mapping, we will use the native integration between the two programs to build a highly responsive audiovisual system.

We’ll focus entirely on cross-modulation: extracting internal data and modulators from Bitwig to shape 2D/3D visual networks, and pulling pixel data out of TouchDesigner to drive instruments, effects, and composition inside Bitwig

What we'll cover:

  • Sound to Sight — Mapping Bitwig modulators (Envelopes, LFOs, device parameters) directly into visual networks to control geometry and generative systems.
  • Sight to Sound — Extracting pixel data — brightness, colour channels, motion — from TouchDesigner to manipulate instruments, filters, and synth parameters inside Bitwig.
  • Interconnected Systems — Exploring different modes of interaction, from subtle visual accompaniment to fully generative setups where image and music shape each other.

Bring: laptop with TouchDesigner and Bitwig Studio installed (30-day free trial available), headphones, three-button mouse
