Organised by The NODE Institute with support from Derivative, PlusPlusOne and Monopol Berlin, the NODE SESSIONS return for their third edition at one of Berlin’s most vibrant hubs for light and media art. These gatherings create an inspiring space for artists, developers, and designers exploring light art, experience design, creative coding, and interactive media. Whether you’re an established creator or simply curious about the future of digital expression, you’re invited to join and connect with the community.
We are thrilled to return to Monopol Berlin—not only home to a diverse community of artists, but also a venue that has hosted some of the city’s most striking light and media art installations in recent years.
It’s our pleasure to welcome Jimmz Zhang, co-founder of the TEA community and Digital FUN, Michael Sollinger, founder of LaserAnimation Sollinger, and Katharina Geiger, Head of Operations at MiMU, each bringing unique perspectives on interactive media, laser technology, and the creative potential of wearable instruments.

Katharina Geiger is Head of Operations at MiMU, the company behind the groundbreaking MiMU Gloves. Developed by a team of musicians, engineers, and designers around Imogen Heap, the gloves turn gestures into expressive control for music and performance. Already used by artists worldwide, this technology now opens exciting possibilities for visual production — from concert visuals and immersive experiences to interactive installations and augmented reality.

23:00 UHR / 11:00 PM / EAU+Jimmz / < INFINITE VISAGE >
< INFINITE VISAGE > is a live audiovisual journey exploring the fluid thresholds of perception. Conceived collaboratively in 2025 by EAU and Jimmz, the performance fuses sound, light, and laser into an evolving sensory experience. Visual and sonic elements merge, shaping a nonlinear, ever-changing reality. Laser slices through space; sound stretches time. Rather than reflecting the visible world, it conjures a living surface of sensation, where perception becomes elastic—caught in a continuous act of re-formation and rediscovery.
EAU is a sound and visual artist based in Shanghai, China. Trained in Musique Actuelle at the CRR de Chalon-sur-Saône (France), he explores sound as a medium of communication through audiovisual works, physical theatre compositions, sound installations, and experimental synthesizer improvisations. His artist name EAU (French for “water”) symbolizes the transformation and fluidity of thought, qualities that permeate his work.instagram.com/eau_yiyiyi
Jun Zhang (Jimmz) is a Shanghai-based digital media artist and designer, co-founder and Design Director of Digital FUN Studio, with roots in China and Canada. A core member of SIGGRAPH 2025 Spatial Storytelling and lead creator of the TEA New Media Community Course, he works internationally in new media art.
His collaborative Audio-Visual project Cyber Shanshui with EAU has been exhibited at Wuhan Donghu Biennale, London Design Festival, and Flare International New Media Art Festival from 2019-2023.
