How Pros Modify Tools in TouchDesigner

A far too common problem for all interactive and immersive developers is that you'll have a complex problem to solve but you won't have the tools to solve it. You'll have a handful of tools you found online that are close but they require a bit of hacking before they could be working. Or you could start from scratch to solve your problem. Both options feel daunting and time consuming. In this video, Elburz creates an example of how to hack an Arc Geometry component in TouchDesigner to accept 3D render picking inputs while talking about the generalized approaches to hacking together complex tools without needing to fully understand them.
