TouchDesigner FTE

FTE is Free Thinking Environment, an edition of TouchDesigner available at no charge (free) for personal and non-commercial use.

TouchDesigner FTE (Free Thinking Environment) is a free version of TouchDesigner for non-commercial use.
FTE is free for non-commercial use ONLY. (Precisely, "You are not receiving money or compensation for your work with FTE")
image resolution is limited to 1280x1280. (Exceptions: Images that are 1 or 2 pixels high can be any resolution, for use in ramps. See Also FTE Commercial below).
does not include a subset of Pro/Commercial Operators (such as Shared Memory Ops, C++ Ops, SDI Ops, etc).
does not include any direct support, forum support only.

A TouchDesigner FTE Commercial license is available for $599 if you use FTE for commercial purposes.

A Commercial license is available for use with FTE, which includes any project or work done with TouchDesigner FTE that you receive money or compensation for.

TouchDesigner Pro-only Operators
- for blending motion channels: Clip Blender CHOP, Clip CHOP, Clip DAT
- for passing images between Touch processes: Shared Mem In TOP, Shared Mem Out TOP. (The existing Touch Out TOP and Touch In TOP pass images between Touch processes via TCP/IP.) (also available in FTE Commercial)
- for passing transforms between Touch processes: Xform In COMP, Xform Out COMP component types
- for SDI input/output support: SDI In TOP, SDI Out TOP, SDI Select TOP

Privacy Option - The Privacy option keeps your networks inaccessible when you create a .toe project file and pass it to someone else. When you start a .toe in Perform Mode with any Derivative product, pressing Esc normally opens up the TouchDesigner networks for that application. But if the .toe was save in Pro with Privacy on, the networks are not visible or editable by anyone. The Privacy option is available in Pro only.

software fixes/RFEs are not guaranteed, but Pro users will receive front-of-the-line service.

Direct Support from Derivative staff - No support provided with TouchDesigner FTE. Pro support includes up to 6 hours of programmer or production specialist support in a one-year support period.
