RESOLVED: Bug Report - Unable to Launch TD

Hey,

Yesterday I updated my GPU drivers to the latest (18.8.1 from AMD).
Using Windows 10 Version 10.0.16299 Build 16299
I have two Radeon R9 200
Today TD doesn’t launch, process shuts itself off after launch automatically.

I’m on 099.2018.22800 and now I’m trying to update to 25000 and check if the issue persists.

Will update how it goes…

Last Update for now -
I rolled back to the previous AMD Drivers and the issue is resolved. The atio6axx.dll which crashes the system must be different in the new driver version.

Thank you for the detailed report. We don’t have R9 200 GPU for testing but we will try to reproduce with another AMD card and contact them if we can isolate the bug.

Can you tell me what the “previous version” of drivers is that works for you?

Currently installed and operating version is 18.5.1. It may have broken even prior to 18.8.1 but I wouldn’t know as I’ve just updated.

Please let me know if there’s anything else I can add that will help.

Otherwise, I’ll just stay tuned to the fix as I’d definitely like to keep up using TD as well as the latest drivers, but no biggie.

Odds are the fix will be in an even newer AMD driver version, since the crash is occurring in their drivers. We’ll try to reproduce and report it to them though.

18.8.2 does not solve this problem.
18.5.1 does indeed work fine @6zaynh

Thanks for the extra info. I’ve added checks to TD on startup error when these drivers are installed, and reported the issue to AMD.
