Looking for a company that offers high end rackmount pc’s similar to the dell precision 7920 ru series but with the option to put in rtx 2080ti’s and also a smaller footprint and lower weight. The dell cases are like 70lbs and 27inch deep…
anyone have any favorites? Hoping to find something ready out of box and avoid custom builds

Def looking for a manufacturer vs. a studio that builds pc’s… unsure which beside digital falls under
I founded and run BeSide (we’re now part of a larger company called Opus) so I am not an unbiased source of info on this. That being said, we’re somewhere in between a traditional manufacturer and a studio that builds PCs. We are definitely a studio/R&D consultancy and the L5 servers evolved out of hardware that we developed to meet our own project needs. That being said, we now manufacture them and support them much the way any boutique manufacturer would. All of the hardware is manufactured in an ISO certified factory, imaged with a custom build of Windows, undergoes rigorous quality control checks, and carries a full warranty. We have robust support infrastructure and we’re part of a large company that has been around for decades so we’re not going anywhere any time soon.
Specifically, the L5x8 is smaller and lighter than a typical rack-mount workstation, has plenty of space for dual full-size 2-slot GPUs, and has a ton of design features that are specifically designed for touring and high-end installation such as internally shock-mounted components, closed-loop liquid cooling, ultra-quiet fans, fully field replaceable connectors, etc. As a bonus, our hardware is paired with a proprietary Window LTSC build that took years to finesse and completely prevents normal OS updates and pretty much anything else that you wouldn’t want on a production machine.
In short, if you are looking for a mass-market company like Dell, we’re definitely not that, but if you are interested in hardware that is built to the highest standards specifically for the interactive industry than we might be a good fit.
