Touch blocks with SOP Node

Now… When I start Touch Everything goes normal

BUT, When I create a Node SOP (Circle or Grid or Rect) Touch blocks the interface and in the task manager the CPU doesn’t work 00 and usage memory goes about 360.000KB!

And when I move the task manager on the Touch Interface it draw white rectangles that doesn’t disappear, so I always ending process.

I think is there some problem with OpenGL?? Could you confirm it? And how to fix?

I’ve installed the latest version of the GeForce8600GT.
I think that it could be this Mother Board because is little, but I’ not sure.

Please answer me, I need to start to work with Touch!

could you install the latest available Driver for your video card and try again?
There is a version 175 available at nvidia.com: nvidia.com/object/winxp_175.19_whql.html

I tried to install the version 175.19 of the Nvidia Driver, nothing changes…
I also tried the last version 177.83 but the problem persist.

The first that I installed Touch there was not Quick time player, and touch did an error during the installation, so I installed QuickTime and then installed another time Touch and it runs. But as I said before it doesn’t create any SOP node and also the COMP GEO.

I’ve downloaded the OpenGL Extension from realtech vr and ran the rendering Test, every Test works fine like 1500 FPS. So the OpenGL works, but has problem to comunicate with Touch… :stuck_out_tongue:

What I have to do?

are you able to put down and Add SOP? by default, that has no geometry. if you can, then
toggle on points 0, 1, 2, and give them positions (0,0,0), (1, 0, 0), and (0, 1, 0) respectively.
if that works, then go to the Polygons tab, select by Group and toggle on Closed. does it crash
then?

the Geo COMP contains a torus, so if you are having trouble with SOP geometry, that would
show up as well. are MATs also creating a similar problem?

Yes, Touch blocks also with MAT… also Mat have a torus inside… is it right?

In the CHOP Perform the CPU used mem is on 326MB.

Is it right? Also in the dxdiag the page file used are about 380MB on 3556 availble…

if you hit tab to get the OP create menu, and click on SOP, Add is the first choice on the left column.

Couldn’t see it in the display information but do you have a second monitor installed?

I did The add and set the points, and then in polygon i click first “by group” and when i click on the first “close” of the list it’s crashed.

I have only one monitor an Lg Electronics L1918S, but now I see that on Devices manager monitor driver is “plug and play”. Maybe I have to install the monitor driver?

no need to install the monitor drivers. But I’m fairly clueless on what could cause the crashing.
Do you have access to another videocard or a second computer?

No I don’t have another Pc or video card…

I used this Pc at first in Carrara (during biennale of sculpture) with another monitor that was like an old tv monitor (very heavy) and a Benq Projector.

I don’t understand what is the problem with this fxxxing PC?? I will format it and trow away! maybe with another computer I could work…

Anyone know what could be the cause of this problem??
