BPM reference expression?

Postby GavinG » Tue Jul 02, 2019 3:09 pm

when I link some reference, say to produce movement, to absTime.seconds or absTime.frame I get a smooth movement. I'd like to produce that same smooth movement in a reference, but instead tied to the BPM. I can't find an equivalent reference expression for this? Surely there must be one?

I've tried a Beat CHOP into a Count CHOP and then referencing its output (which produces a jumpy/stepped movement from 0-1 as the counter goes up), and added various modifications to try and smooth it out, but am not getting it.

check out the beat CHOP, in the output area, toggle on everything and take a look. they have several ramps such as countramp and rampbar and rampbeat that track smoothly but follow bpm.
