FIXED:2 MIDI DEVICES with same name

Hi,

Got a little problem doing my project.
I want to make some VJing with 2 midi devices with the same name.
nanoKONTROL2.

The issue is that in touch, I got 2 devices dettected with the same name. But when I make 2 set up with 2 different ID and with each controller, only one send the midi to both devices.

And I don’t find any solution to my problem. I tried to change the name of one of my controllers but I can’t…

I dunno if the solution will be in windows or Touch, but at the end of the day, I jhust think it’s a bug in touch…

And btw I don’t find any help on internet.

and btw : TOUCHDESIGNER 099 EDUCATIONAL 64-Bit Build 2018.24410

Can you send us an example toe file to support@derivative.ca
As you say, it should work with different IDs.
Cheers,
Rob

I had the same problem.
Is there a solution?

Can you tell us which operating system and KORG USB-MIDI Driver you are using?

I’ve just tested successfully with two nanoKONTROL2 units

KORG USB-MIDI driver:
user mode driver: 1.15.00.03
kernel mode driver: 1.07.00.01

Windows 10 Pro

The thing is, they come in with different names:

nanoKONTROL2 #4
nanoKONTROL2 #5

There is only an option to ‘Suppress device number in the port name of the first device’,
so not sure how they arrive with the same name in your setup.

Can you please confirm?

Thanks,
Rob.

Its not a bug of touch, is a bug of midi/windows. My solution is to have each nanoKontrol with different channel, so I send the signal to all midi device and receive from all midi devices, the channel discriminate the signal. Its not the best solution but it works.

So it seems if you plug 2 devices into a new system, they’ll show up with the same name and the above problems will happen.

I installed the KORG USB-MIDI driver initially, and did not run into this problem.
Each device was given a unique name.

Is that what is happening in your case?
