Particles one-shot with lifespan [SOLVED]

I am trying to emit particles based on a beat. My idea is to link the pulsereset to a beat/ramp/etc. This part is not the problem though. To get a proper transition, I’d like to fade the particles in and out via the life parameter.

If I use the Convert-SOP, I get a one-shot of particles, but apparently, they don’t have a life parameter.

If I use the Particle-SOP, I get the life parameter, but I could not find a way to make it a one shot.

You could try switching between your particle source SOP and an empty Add SOP. This would give you on/off control over particle emission.

If anyone else comes across this thread: I animated the switch index with a trigger from a Ableton Link, but works with a LFO as well.
