grid + bump map

hello,

I am quite new to touchdesigner.
I am using latest build of TD 099 under Mac

simple question : i am trying to deform a grid with a bump map texture (noise) but it doesn’t seem to work using the texture as normal map in the phong MAT.

isn’t that’s how it is supposed to work ?

Note :

  • I added a normal OP to the noise texture
  • I added a createattribute OP to the grid to compute tangents

It works when using a shader though.

any advice ?
