hello TD folks,
I was wondering if it is somehow possible to create custom buttons in TD, for example using a picture instead of a solid background. I did some googling and found nothing, so it might be either completely obvious or not even conceivable, or they might be some workaround that I cannot see.
Thank you for any hint
You certainly can.
If you place a Button COMP and zoom in to it, you’ll find in there a Text TOP called ‘bg’.
This TOP is by default used as the button background image, and you can change this to anything.
See this very ugly 5-seconds example where I added a banana. But you can composite anything to fill in the background of a button, for instance you can also use movies as the background for a button, or a 3d animation if you want to.

also see a tutorial here how to play with colors for all states of a button

and for some more inspiration drag a few buttons&knobs from the Palette (category:UI) into your network and see how the the background of each button is composited in each of them and how fully customizable they are.
ok, so this was completely obvious
thank you for your patience sir!
