Applying Textures to a 2D Image

Postby IGotTheBends » Wed Sep 11, 2019 3:04 pm

Hi, I am very new to motion graphics. In fact, TD is the first software that I am beginning to explore. I am looking for ways to apply a texture to a 2D image. Maybe even filtered noise. I am looking to create a face-melting effect.

All the tutorials I have come across on applying textures are geared towards 3D. They use geometry. Is it possible to apply textures to a 2D image in TD?

Thank you.

hi,

you probably want to give the Composite TOP a try :

- Add an image with a MovieFileIn TOP.
- Add a Noise TOP.
- Add a Composite TOP
- Use the first two (image and noise) as input to the Composite TOP and play with the blend mode on the Composite TOP

hope that helps
