'painting' a texture using Screen Grab TOP

Just a quick tip.

Imagine you’ve made a complex model and now you want to make a texture for it with particular markings at particular locations on the surface of the object.

Here’s a quick and dirty method…

set up your model with a phong shader using a Screen Grab TOP (via a null TOP of course) as your color map.

shrink your Touch window to Half your screen (or on one monitor?) and open your paint program (paint.net is a good free one) on the other half of the screen or on the other monitor.

now set the parameters of the Screen Grab TOP so that it captures the working window of your paint program.

you should be able to see where the paint brush cursor is on the surface of your object in the render TOP.

you can then paint in photoshop or whatever and see the result immediately on your geometry. See? byoootifull!
