TD Virtual User Group

Oh I’ll try to be on there for sure, I probably do have work but I can just work that evening then sleep the morning maybe.

i’m interested, very interested

Well done for the initiative.
will try to be there.

I’ll be there!

Thanks for setting this up! I was thinking along these lines recently. Just did an hour-long presentation on Music metadata controlling visual scenes with TouchDesigner a few weeks ago - would be happy to share some Cliff’s notes.

Excellent! Glad to see some interest. Will look at a more UK/Europe friendly time for the second session, maybe alternate between the times.

I don’t have much of an agenda for the first session, so Momo (or anyone else who has a short presentation ready) is more than welcome to share. If anyone wants to commit to giving a presentation please drop me a PM or mail tim AT prim8.net with a brief synopsis and how much time you would like. If an agenda develops, I’ll post it here and on the facebook group.

I’ll try to join too. Depends if I can recruit ‘angry birds’ to distract a child for that period.
3pm oz time is quite civilised.

rod.

Sounds great! I’ll try to be there!

just noticed that is right on the full moon time

maybe it will make it easier to be awake for us in old europe

Hey that was nice to meet a bunch of people online.
Hangouts worked quite well.
it would be fun to try some show-n-tell sessions using shared screens etc. later but it’s nice to just hang out and see what people are up to, where they live etc.

The link I mentioned for Cam’s course notes for hhttp://sweb.cityu.edu.hk/sm4125/SM4125-03.pdf if you replace the 03 with 01 up to 12 there is a lot of useful material to read. epic thanks Cam.

Thanks for coming everyone! We had a full session most of the time (hangout cap is 10 users). I will attempt to set up youtube streaming so you can still watch if you can’t get on the call. Special thanks to t3kt who successfully screen shared his audio analysis toolkit (available from his github - https://github.com/t3kt/flow).

Let’s do a session next week, tentatively Wed the 22nd at 20:00 GMT, hopefully a better time for folks in other time zones. Then back to 8pm PST on Wed the 29th(04:00 GMT Thurs 30). I will post URLs as soon as I figure out the on air streaming.

Tim.

Sorry couldn’t make it out that night, my flights were a mess. Sounds like it was fun!

I will keep the first post of this thread edited with the current meeting info.

So here’s a couple of little utilities I showed briefly in the hangout, this one’s for saving and loading presets
DAT_load_save_GUI.tox (12.5 KB)

…and this one’s for mapping CHOP channels using the replicator. You just pass in the CHOP and a reference table, and it will add/remove mappings as you edit the table.

EDIT : uploaded the correct .tox now
CHOP_Mapper.tox (2.14 KB)

I wasn’t able to attend the event but I’m interested in how this works and what it does. However when I load it get no output and I’ve tried a few variations of CHOP and DAT input (matching the default modes you placed inside) but I can’t figure it out. The output CHOP is always empty. Looking into the item0 component nothing seems to get past the CHOP called select1.

Any hints on how to use?

jez missed it again! So much looking forward to join this once, greetings!

Apologies, seems I uploaded the wrong file by mistake. Have re-uploaded it to my original post. Here is a super simple example of it working.

Can easily be adapted to perform any set of actions on a CHOP channel, all you need to do is add a column to the input table, and reference it inside the master operator, using $OPD as the row number.

Reminder there will be another User Group meeting tomorrow (Feb 26) at 8pm PST. I will update the calendar event with the hangout URL 15 minutes before the meeting.

Today we had presentations from t3kt and me (ir8prim8) on new projects. Sorry, the audio is a little bad at times. All the code you see here is available at:
