Service Systems Engineer

Obscura is looking for an experienced Systems Engineer to help our technical teams achieve the highest level of success in our groundbreaking immersive, conceptual, and interactive experiences which are in long term service. This role will report to our Director of Systems. We require someone who shares our passion and technical curiosity.

RESPONSIBILITIES:

-Provide infrastructure documentation and investigation for existing installations.
-Strong ability to communicate complex technical information to non-technical personnel.
-Resolve highly technical software and infrastructure problems with a mind for QC and time sensitive problems.
-Work independently and maintain a comprehensive ability to document and track changes.

WHAT WE ARE LOOKING FOR:

-A meticulous sense of attention to detail.
-Bachelor’s degree and/or 4-6+ years of technical engineering (software or systems).
-Highly proficient with show control systems, software engineering standard sand systems infrastructure from a display and installation standpoint.
-Deep understanding of linux, windows and show control systems.
-Deep understanding of information systems architecture.
-Commitment to documentation and rigorous peer review.
-Exceptional knowledge on,
-Windows (desktop and server)
-Linux (primarily debian)
-Development environments (Python3)
-Display and projection technologies
-Sensor technologies
-A/V LED and projection technologies

DIRECTION:

This is a full-time salaried position with occasional late evenings and/or weekend work. We offer a comprehensive set of employee benefits, including healthcare and 401k. As a Systems Engineer at Obscura, you will work with the Creative team and technical team to achieve the best possible success of production work. This includes event based shows and permanent installation work in a variety of projects.
